ARQUIMEA has attended last February 24th to the X National Biotechnology Award given to Ana Polanco Álvarez, president of the Spanish Association of Biocompanies and Chief Operating Officer of Merck Group.
Pilar de la Huerta, CEO of ARQUIMEA Healthcare was part of the jury of this prestigious award, whose president and promoter was Martín Hernández-Palacios Martín-Neda, director of the Master in Biotechnology and Law at ISDE Law & Business School. The jury, made up of more than twenty experts from various representative bodies of this sector in Spain, highlighted “the tenacity of the award winner in promoting biotechnology as a strategic sector to advance scientific-technical progress and sustainable economic development”.
In her speech of gratitude, Ana Polanco highlighted the value of biotechnology as a strategic factor for economic and industrial growth, social welfare and for the generation of quality employment. “We all know that knowledge transfer is a great challenge that we have to address as a country and only with biotechnology will we be able to convert the highest science budget in our history into an innovative and resilient industrial fabric”, said the award winner.
The award ceremony was attended by representatives of the National Biotechnology Center, CSIC and the National Cancer Research Center, among other professionals from the world of research. Likewise, winners of previous editions were also present.
For ARQUIMEA and Kaudal it is a pleasure to be part of one of the biggest meetings of the biotechnology sector and to contribute to the recognition of the great professionals of the sector.
