In order to facilitate air travel, a Travel COVID Test centre has been opened at Jerez Airport on the first floor of the departures terminal, located before the passenger screening area. Its purpose is to provide Jerez de la Frontera and the surrounding areas with COVID-19 tests so passengers can comply with travel requirements.
The Travel COVID Test service was launched in March this year at Madrid, Malaga and Seville airports, and to date more than 180,000 tests have been conducted.
As with other Travel COVID Test centres, passengers will be able to undergo antigen tests and rapid antibody tests, with results in 15-20 minutes, and PCR tests, with results in 12 hours. The results reports are issued by certified laboratories, in English and Spanish, and are valid for travel to Spanish and international destinations.
The centre will be open every day of the week from 8.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. Opening hours are expected to be extended in line with flight schedules and increased activity.
The provision of this service was awarded by AENA to the joint venture formed by the technology company ARQUIMEA, which through its HEALTHCARE division provides prevention and healthcare services and solutions, including preventive diagnosis services such as COVID 19 detection tests, and which will be responsible for managing the centres and conducting the tests; and by the Recoletas hospital group, a leading private healthcare provider specialising in the management of high-technology healthcare resources, which will provide support in complying with the protocols for the provision of the service and the relevant licences and authorisations.
The joint venture is completed by the airport services company GTT and LabGenetics, a genetic laboratory that is part of the consortium of laboratories led by ARQUIMEA for the diagnosis of SARS-COV-2.
