SATELLITE BSAT-4A IN ORBIT WITH IBERESPACIO’S (ARQUIMEA AT PRESENT) NORTH AND SOUTH THERMO-STRUCTURAL PANELS

Launched on board an Ariane 5 launcher, the BSAT-4A is a geostationary communications satellite that will provide direct television broadcasting in 4k and 8K Ultra HD resolutions. It was designed and manufactured by SSL on the SSL 1300 platform and it carries IberEspacio’s (ARQUIMEA at present) North and South Thermo-Structural Panels, which comprise several tens of curved and straight heat pipes in two layers, embedded in a sandwich honeycomb aluminium panel. IberEspacio manufactures these panels ready to deliver with Harnes and Optical Solar Reflectors.

The rocket successfully completed its mission on the second attempt, as the first aborted due to an electrical issue with a booster post-main engine ignition.
