NASA PSYCHE MISSION SPACECRAFT BUILT BY MAXAR WITH IBERESPACIO (ARQUIMEA at present) PANELS AND HEAT PIPES

IberEspacio (ARQUIMEA at present) is providing thermo-structural panels with embedded heat pipes for a spacecraft being built by Maxar Technologies that will embark on an exciting NASA mission called Psyche. Led by Arizona State University and managed by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Psyche will launch in 2022 to explore a metal-rich asteroid orbiting the Sun between Mars and Jupiter. It is the only known place in our solar system where we can examine what may be a metallic core of an early planet. The IberEspacio (ARQUIMEA at the present)-built panels provide a thermally-controlled mounting surface for the spacecraft’s electronic boxes.
