The REALINT is a collaborative project between, among others, the Ambit Living Spaces Cluster and ARQUIMEA Research Center, aiming to explore the potential of Radiance Fields in the Habitat sector. Ambiance is one of the solutions developed as part of the REALINT Project. With Volinga´s Radiance Fields Technology, Ambiance offers a professional capturing service and platform enabling habitat businesses to create and share interactive 3D interior scenes and objects.

Radience Field Technology for fast and simplified 3D scene creation

Radiance fields, more specifically 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) and Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF), are AI-driven solutions that transform 2D images into 3D objects and environments. This rapidly evolving technology is already making its mark in the film and entertainment industry, where it streamlines the creation of 3D scenes by significantly reducing time and costs.

How does this work?

An object or scene is captured from multiple angles using any camera. The AI software then combines these images to create a neural scene, resulting in a highly accurate 3D model that can be viewed from any angle—known as a NeRF or 3D Gaussian Splat. This process takes less than an hour, as the algorithm calculates the color and opacity of every point in the space, creating a highly accurate, multidimensional representation.

Beyond its current success, Radience Fields show potential in the habitat sector and are set to revolutionize traditional 3D methods. The REALINT project, led by the Ambit Living Spaces Cluster, aims to explore, for the first time in the habitat industry, the potential of 3DGS and NeRF. These cutting-edge technologies promise to overcome traditional 3D limitations by introducing new, engaging ways to present and explain products.

Our first Minimum Viable Product (MVP) is called Ambiance. Ambiance, a product powered by Volinga, offers a professional capturing service that enables habitat businesses to create shareable, interactive 3D scenes in just three simple steps. Our capturing specialist will take care of the capture and creation of the scene. Our Ambiance Platform allows you to share 3D scenes with clients and stakeholders through an interactive viewer or by embedding them directly on your website.

Combining LiDAR with 3DGS to drastically increase accuracy and quality of 3D scenes

The rapidly advancing AI technology, 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS), has recently shown significant improvements when combined with LiDAR. Combining these technologies enhances accuracy and elevates the quality of 3D visualizations, making them more realistic and less prone to errors.

LiDAR is a technology that uses laser light to measure distances and create detailed 3D maps. By emitting laser pulses, it captures data that is represented as point clouds—a collection of data points in a 3D space —enabling precise analysis and visualization of our surroundings.
