ARQUIMEA DEUTSCHLAND GmbH (ARQ-D), the German spin-off of the Spanish company ARQUIMEA INGENIERÍA started with the design of radiation-hardened integrated circuits in Frankfurt (Oder). ARQ-D is a fabless design house with Spanish roots and focused on radiation-tolerant analog and mixed-signal microelectronics design for high-reliability applications (i.e. in aerospace industry).
The company decided to open an office in the Technology Park Frankfurt (Oder). "The support to R&D activities in the region and our commercial partnership with the IHP were decisive factors for our set-up in Frankfurt (Oder)", underlines Ferran Tejada, Head of Arquimea in Germany. Five international employees were already hired.
After being designed at ARQ-D, part of the high-quality chips will be produced in small quantities in the Leibniz-Institute IHP - Innovations for High Performance Microelectronics in Frankfurt (Oder) and will be used e.g. in space satellites.
